Artist Statement

For a long time I struggled to reconcile the four artists within me…

• A Conservative Pencil: uptight, detailed, time-consuming, black & white.
• A Colorful Mess: rich-colored pastels & paints feed my hunger for fast color.
• A Smooth Color: Where the color meets the time-consuming detail in the colored pencil artist.
• A Magician: Where my manipulator emerges, pushing around images on a computer screen to create magical perfection.

I used to believe that these conflicted personalities prohibited me from any “real definition” of artist. Today, I embrace my many sides and they propel me forward. I’m excited to bring my artwork to this website, creating a common area for my four inner artists to meet and express myself as one whole being.
